Video editor cost per video: what ten editing services list on their pricing pages

Seven of the ten editing services in the table below have a per-video figure, listed or by arithmetic, and those run from about $14 to $327. The low end is a clip of up to 90 seconds on editvideo.io's 50-video plan ($695 a month, shown beside a struck-through $795, for 50 videos is about $14 a video), and the high end is one horizontal video at Tasty Edits, listed at $327 (both read 2026-10-04). They differ because of finished length, what the price includes and how many you buy. For the other three, the plans in the table list no fixed video count, so there is no figure to give.

What each pricing page lists, plan by plan

One row per plan, 41 in all, sorted by how the price is set. The per-video column is arithmetic on the two listed numbers it shows, rounded to the dollar. Where a plan has no fixed video count, the column gives no figure and says why.

How the pricing is shaped

One example of each, from the table above (read 2026-10-04).

  • Per video, lower in a pack. Tasty Edits lists one horizontal video at $327, and $278 each in a pack of 8.
  • Per video, by finished length. Your Video Editor's $50 covers up to 5 finished minutes, then $10 a minute.
  • By the month, with a set number of videos. editvideo.io lists $295 a month for 4 videos, labeled a limited-time offer.
  • By the month, sized by editor time or a queue. Video Husky's Eskimo plan is $849 a month for 10 hours of editor time a week.
  • A from-price, then a quote. Increditors lists social media reels from $2.5K a month, marked “With add-ons”.

What changes the price

Only what the pages linked in the table state, read 2026-10-04.

  • Finished length. Your Video Editor adds $10 to $20 for each finished minute past 5.
  • Raw footage. editvideo.io's long-form plans list a 45 minute limit, Vidchops and Tasty Edits 60. Tasty Edits adds a fee past that.
  • Turnaround. Veedyou lists 2 to 3 business days on Starter at $899 a month and 1 to 2 on Growth at $2,399. A footnote on both says turnaround varies between 1 and 3 business days, depending on complexity.
  • Revisions. Vidchops' Weekly card lists 3 revisions per video and its Pro card unlimited revisions.
  • Captions and thumbnails. Vidchops charges $95 a month for subtitles and includes closed captions on repurposed shorts only. A thumbnail is a $43 add-on at Tasty Edits and $25 at Your Video Editor. Clipmasters lists thumbnail creation as a $109 add-on for two thumbnail options per video request, and prints no unit beside the price.
  • Stock footage. Tasty Edits lists unlimited stock footage. Video Husky's Eskimo plan asks for videos that are at least 80% footage you filmed.

  • Thumbtack's cost guide gives a national average of $65 per hour, a low-end average of $40 and a high-end average of $300, from its own data. Its update line shows no year, and its page title says 2025 (read 2026-10-04).
  • goLance's rate page, marked updated September 2026, says most video editors on goLance work for $10 to $15 an hour, and says you pay one 7.95% fee (read 2026-10-04).
  • Twine's rates guide, dated September 21, 2026, puts a YouTube edit of 8 to 12 minutes at 6 to 15 hours and $300 to $1,500. It names no data source (read 2026-10-04).

Before you ask for a quote

Five questions for any editor, drawn from the caps, extras and terms in the table:

  1. How long can the finished video be, and what does an extra minute cost?
  2. How much raw footage can I send per video?
  3. Are captions, thumbnails and stock footage included or extra?
  4. How many revisions are included, and how long does a draft take?
  5. Do unused videos carry over, and what notice do you need to cancel?

Then send a brief: How to brief a video editor has a template. If you coach and are still deciding whether to hire, see Video editing for coaches.

The tool I built

A head start on one step

Takehound is mine, so weigh this part. One step in an edit is finding which of your clips fits which line. Takehound does that one step: you paste a script, point it at a folder of footage you filmed, and for each line it can, it picks one of your shots and gives a one-line reason. Where nothing fits, the line stays on you. You get a B-roll timeline (an FCPXML file) for DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut, not Premiere, to hand to an editor with your brief. It does not replace an editor, and I make no claim that it changes anyone's price. Other tools do this step too: AI B-roll from your own footage compares nine.
