What Hound does with it

  1. Goal: a viewer always knows where they are in the video, and leaves with its points in one place. Read the whole transcript first.
  2. Find where the talk moves to a new point or a new step. A video over three minutes usually has three to eight; a shorter one may need none, and then say so and stop.
  3. Mark each chapter at the moment its first word is said, with a title of two to five of their own words. The first chapter starts at 0.
  4. Where each chapter begins, put a chapter card with its number, how many there are and its title, unless a slide or another card is already on screen there.
  5. Near the end, where they sum up or before they sign off, put a recap: a list of the chapter titles, on the side away from them. If they name the points again, let each one arrive as it is said.
  6. Check: see each chapter card and the recap, five or six to a sheet. Every title is their own words, no card covers their face or hands, and no two cards are up at once.
  7. Say how many chapters you marked, that they can copy them for YouTube with Copy chapters, and anything you left out and why.
